Patchwork Hand-Beaded Necklace
Abstracted Emotions Beaded Necklace
The Abstracted Emotions Beaded Necklace is inspired by both Matisse sketches, and a personal print and pattern collection. Using hand beading techniques such as peyote stitch and bead embroidery, there is variety seen in the piece. The materials used range from plastic peeler beads and silver lines Japanese seed beads, to matte neon czech beads. This necklace has interchangeable "charms" that can be taken off and switched around.
Spirited Brooch Collection
This hand-beaded brooch collection is inspired by my personal use of mind maps to arrive to an idea while brainstorming. I am constantly writing down my thoughts, in a well designed manner within a graphic mind map. I chose to select shapes that I arrived to in the mind map, after looking at what "Spirited" means to me. Using a variety of beading processes and materials, I allowed each brooch to be quirky and unique on it's own, but be able to thrive in a group. Each brooch is a personality of being spirited and is it's own separate thought bubble within the mind map.
